Sincerity (Ikhlฤแนฃ)
Purifying your intention and seeking the pleasure of Allah alone in your worship, actions and daily life.
Sincerity, or ikhlฤแนฃ, is one of the most important acts of the heart. It means doing good for Allah alone, not for praise, attention or status. A small action done sincerely can become beloved to Allah, while a great action done to impress people can lose its value.
The Journey of Sincerity (Ikhlฤแนฃ)
The Prophet ๏ทบ taught that actions are judged by intentions. Before every action, the believer asks: โWho am I doing this for?โ
True sincerity means seeking the pleasure of Allah over the praise of people. The most beloved deeds are often the ones hidden from creation โ a private dua, a secret charity, a tear in prayer, or a sin left solely for Allahโs sake.
A believer guards the heart against Riyฤโ (showing off), constantly returning their intention back to Allah whenever they seek recognition from others.
Sincerity is not only checked at the beginning of an action but renewed throughout it, because the heart can change.
Even ordinary parts of life โ work, studying, caring for family, helping others, and resting โ can become acts of worship when done with a sincere intention and in a way that pleases Allah.

Practical Steps Towards Sincerity
Hide Some Good Deeds
Keep some acts of worship only between you and Allah โ a private dua, charity, night prayer or Qur'an recitation that nobody knows about.
Renew Your Intention Often
Before, during and after an action, pause and ask yourself: โAm I seeking Allah's pleasure or people's approval?โ
Remember Allah Knows Your Heart
People only see your actions, but Allah sees your intention, your struggles and what you keep hidden within your heart.
Do Not Seek Praise
Train your heart to feel content when Allah knows your deeds, even if nobody else recognises or appreciates them.
Make Tawbah Frequently
The heart changes constantly. Return to Allah often and ask Him to purify your intentions and protect you from showing off.
Remember the Hereafter
Reflect on the Day when hidden intentions will be exposed and only deeds done sincerely for Allah will remain valuable.
